While the majority of our customers will not have any problems playing our DVDs, a few will experience difficulty related to dirty media or finicky DVD players. Some players have very picky lasers, and they do not do well toward the end of content recorded on DVD-R media. If you are having problems with playback, please attempt to play our discs in a different player - your computer drive, another set top player, etc. This will solve almost all problems with CLEAN MEDIA. If your disc is dirty from fingerprints or dust, sometimes that will also cause tracking problems. Do not leave media exposed on the top of your TV or player, as fine dust may stick to the disc, and leave dirt on it which will not easily wipe away.
If you have a dirty disc, you may try to clean it with either a store bought DVD media cleaner, or with simple tap water. You must be gentle with the disc, and follow these guidelines to avoid permanent damage:
1. Wash your hands TWICE to completely remove all natural skin oils.
2. COLD WATER & NO SOLVENTS! Rub the bottom surface of the disc gently with your thumb pads while under running cold tap water.
3. Dry very gently with a clean terry cloth or dish towel. The towel should be completely dry before you begin, and should have been recently laundered. Try to dry from the center ring to the outer edges, rather than in a circular motion as a fine scratch 90 degrees to the laser path is less likely to cause player malfunction than ones directly in the direction of laser path.
With discs that are deeply scratched or beyond cleaning, we will replace them. If you have ordered directly from us in the past (we keep a list of orders), we will ship replacement media to you at the cost of shipping only. Please try to clean your own disc first, before resorting to this replacement policy. E-mail us FIRST, so we not only know to expect your mail, but also to advise you of how much to send in cash. It will likely be 5 euro or less, or the equivalent in your local currency, per disc. When sending packets to us, customs is not a problem, as the importing country is the only one checking content for legal reasons. Since our content is fully legal in the Netherlands, you can put multiple items in one packet to us. When we return media to you, it will be as originally sent, one per envelope. If you reside in an EU country, parcels are not subject to customs declaration, so you will receive all items in one packet.
